What is your '925'?
I work in governmental public health as an emergency preparedness planner.
What is your work dress code?
The dress code where I work is quite casual. Depending on which specific office they work for, people tend to dress slightly up or down.
Where do you get your daily dose of happiness?
Cuddling with my cat, Winnifred, and watching a scary show or movie! Putting together a cute outfit also brightens my day.
Workwear Style Tips
What is your personal style?
I would describe my personal style as classic and timeless. I take a lot of inspiration from my favorite style icons - Audrey Hepburn, Mary Tyler Moore, and Meghan Markle!
How do you adapt it for the workplace?
I’m someone who loves to dress up and gets excited about buying pieces for work. A lot of my wardrobe is made of pieces that I specifically buy for work, then figure out how to dress down on the weekends. I’ll admit, sometimes I’m a bit too fancy for our casual office, but dressing up has been a way to establish myself as a young woman in the workforce.
What do you look for in workwear?
Classic, well-made pieces. That doesn’t necessarily mean expensive! I have a few simple boat neck tops from H&M that I wear all the time and cost $10 a piece. Over the years I’ve learned what cuts look good on my body type by trying on a lot of clothes. I gravitate towards those styles when I shop and rarely shop clothing trends. I also like to pop into my favorite stores frequently to shop the sale rack. You can find some major steals!
What workwear pieces would you invest in?
I invest more in my trousers because they can be mixed and matched to go with so many different outfits and classic dresses because they make putting together a great outfit effortless. I also wear the same watch and pair of earrings every day. I like having consistency in my accessories and they’re easy to grab in the morning.
What workwear pieces do you change up more frequently?
Shoes. I’m a sucker for buying cheaper, trendier shoes because I like to use them to add a pop of color or print to my otherwise minimalist outfits. I also have been loving hair accessories, like headbands, to change up my look!
What’s your #1 tip for looking and feeling good when you are exhausted or have little time to get ready?
Lipstick! If I have time to get ready in the morning, I’ll often go without it. But adding a pop of lipstick to an otherwise bare face really helps me feel put together.
What is your favorite trend right now and how do you make it work appropriate?
I think two piece sets can be really fun! If I buy a matching set I’ll often split it up for work so it’s not too overwhelming.
What’s your favorite Project 925 piece?
It’s hard to pick just one, but the Astrid Jumpsuit is a phenomenal piece. I also love the Chloe Top and the Hidden Placket Collar Top.
What is your favorite piece in your closet at the moment?
A black square neck zip up blazer from Zara. It's structured and adds a chic, tailored look to any outfit!
