About Katy

What is your '925'?
I work as a Product Innovation Consultant for a Data Analytics & Telematics company! Formerly, I worked in Tech Consulting.

What is your work dress code?
When I’m in the office or visiting clients, most often business casual.

Where do you get your daily dose of happiness?
Being in our new home with my new husband - binging HGTV and true crime shows.

Workwear Style Tips

What is your personal style?
My work style closely mimics my ‘weekend’ style - I would describe it overall as classically chic, structured, and minimal.

How do you adapt it for the workplace?
Many of my favorite silhouettes and styling ideas I translate directly to the office - for example, I love a structured jacket and a high-waisted pant. For work, I’d wear that idea as a neutral (maybe plaid or patterned) blazer, a well-fit pair of high-waisted slacks, and heels. For the weekend - I’d keep the blazer, and swap out the rest for straight leg jeans and loafers.

What do you look for in workwear?
I look for versatility, comfort, and fit.

What workwear pieces would you invest in?
Blazers! They rarely go out of style and can be worn so many ways. A good pencil skirt and a few pairs of tailored trousers (both skinny and wide-leg) are also good investments.

What workwear pieces do you change up more frequently?
I change up my layering pieces - blouses, camisoles, etc. I’ll also experiment with neutral scarves or other dainty accessories.

What’s your #1 tip for looking and feeling good when you are exhausted or have little time to get ready?
Go for your most-loved staple pieces - that’s why you have them! When in doubt, I grab from a handful of my most classic and well-fitting pieces, and I’m always able to quickly create a look that I know looks good - which makes me feel good!

What is your favorite trend right now and how do you make it work appropriate?
Monochromatic looks are my favorite trend right now - they are so clean and chic, and incredibly easy to make work appropriate! An example - go for a tan pencil skirt and similarly colored sweater, and you’re both business casual and on trend!

What’s your favorite Project 925 piece?
I’m too indecisive for just one - but, I love this Wine Boyfriend Blazer and the Oscar Coat!
