A letter from our founder

March 25, 2020

To my 925 community,

It’s been a while. Since summer, we’ve been radio silent building what we hope to be a better shopping experience for you. While we aren’t ready to share that with you just yet, I do want you to know that we are still here for you during these challenging times.

I created Project 925 not for my love of fashion, but for the opportunity to connect with and support professional women who are truly changing the game. I hope you find this note a genuine offer.

In my own close circle, I’ve had family members move to other cities for work, only to learn their jobs have been put on hold for an undetermined amount of time. Friend’s weddings have been postponed. Nephews’ and mentees’ hard-earned internships and graduations have been cancelled. With much heartache, the lives around us, if not our own, are being heavily impacted. Yet these situations pale in comparison to the loved ones lost around the world.

As for me, my husband, Vince, and I are bringing our first child, Oliver, into this world in May, and I can’t say I’m not concerned about being able to deliver him in a safe environment. Being at home in my own thoughts has given me the opportunity to self-reflect and think about everything - Project 925, what type of mother I want to be, my relationships, human behavior when pushed to survival mode, and the list goes on….

I realized this morning that the one major benefit of social distancing is time- time we hardly give ourselves in day-to-day life. Time for self-reflection and personal growth, and time to internalize this historical moment that we’ll remember for the rest of our lives. Unfortunately, if you’re anything like me, you might let the learnings and memories fade away when you rush back to your “normal” life.

With that, my offer is simple. Write yourself anything you want to remember- learnings about yourself, reflections on the state we’re in, goals you want to achieve. In five months, when we’re hopefully passed the hardest part, I’ll mail you your self-reflections so you can always remember and hold onto the growth you had during this difficult time.

Feel free to share. You don't have to be a customer or even like workwear. This offer is for all you ladies out there making your impact as we collectively change it all.

Sending you my best vibes,

Quynh Onel
